"Steve Wheeler's Magic on Ice" is an original production combining the elegance and beauty of world-class figure skating, the mystifying world of grand illusion and the unique artistic innovations of the performing arts. This unconventional fusion of ice skating, illusion and performance arts blend together into a series of larger than life magical moments.
The original sets, costumes, music, lighting and special effects create a surreal environment upon which the show is set. The skating serves as an intricate part of the production, utilizing the speed and artistic beauty of movement on ice, whether presented as an intimate solo, a dynamic acrobatic duo, or by the entire ensemble throughout the evening's 70 minute performance.

| The Creator |

As star and creator of “Magic On Ice”, Steve Wheeler is recognized as the world’s premier ice skating illusionist. He has entertained more than 10 million people in over 200 cities around the world.
In 2000, Wheeler starred in the NBC network television special “Starskates Magic”. This unique program featured Wheeler’s original ice illusions with Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi and World Champion Roslynn Sumners.
Steve’s innovative illusion designs and unique performance art have received critical acclaim throughout the entertainment industry. Wheeler created illusions for the $45 million dollar stage spectacular EFX! starring David Cassidy at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas and has appeared at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Le Forum du Montreal and the Forum in Los Angeles.
The New York Post called Wheeler’s ice illusions, “Superb and Bewildering”. Variety declared Magic On Ice, ”A Hit!”
Steve began performing magic at the age of 10. By the age of 14, he received top honors from the Society of American Magicians. After several years of theater arts study at the world reknown Old Globe Theater and extensive training with the nation’s finest figure skating coaches, Wheeler first performed illusions on ice in 1982 in Tokyo, Japan. Wheeler’s performances were televised throughout Japan on both the NHK and Asahi National Broadcasting networks.
Following his engagement in Asia, Wheeler traveled throughout North America for eight consecutive years with the world famous Ice Capades. During that time, Wheeler appeared on the internationally syndicated TV special “Masters of Illusion” and starred with actress Alyssa Milano and Olympic Gold Medalist Robin Cousins on a prime-time, ABC TV special. |

| In 1990, Wheeler co-produced “Magic On Ice” for Sea World of California’s 7,000 seat Nautilus Amphitheater. The ice skating illusion show starred Olympic Silver Medalist Elizabeth Manley and featured a cast of 20 World Professional and Olympic Skating Champions. This was followed by “Magic On Ice” tours of the Netherlands Antilles and French West Indies. The success of “Magic On Ice” then brought Wheeler to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The “Magic On Ice Theatre” was opened at the $250 million Fantasy Harbour theater complex. “Magic on Ice” played the seaside resort for an impressive three year run. |
